magicJack - Useing a Fake IRS agent to get return call
I received a call from an IRS agent Julie Smith stating I need to call immediately to prevent further action from the IRS, I call the number supplied in the message 202-241-**** and it is just an advertisement for Magic Jack. I google Magic Jack and get their number and speak to their sales and customer service reps.
Both sound foreign. Is Magic Jack employees or ex employees in india or elsewhere using Magic Jack as a scam? Maybe it is Magic Jack sanctioned? I don't know.
But if Magic Jack wants to keep their reputation intact, they would use good old Americans as customer service in the USA and Indians in India.
At this point, I will never purchase a Magic Jack for fear that some foreigner hacker will use my identity to scam and rob me.
Reason of review: Scam from IRS that leads to Magic Jack.
Monetary Loss: $20.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
magicJack Pros: Getting thru immediately.
Location: Virginia Beach, Virginia
