I was already unhappy that I would have to pay $20 to keep my home number, but was even more upset to learn that they were holding my phone number hostage for $30.00. This is after they told my new provider several times that they could not help them even after they had the needed account number and passcode. I had to call magic jack, like 10 times in 3 days. The ninth time I got someone on the phone, I asked the lady where did I agree to the fee. She told me to review the agreement , then hung up in my face.

Great Product to an extent | Magicjack review from Dallas, Texas

I have been using the basic MJ for 7 years now and just renewed again for 5 more years. I've been more then pleased with the results. Yes, I have had a problem or two with it but if you go to the menu and then advanced users you can fix anything with MJFIX. IF, and I've used it once, that fails just delete MJ in your computer and replug in your MJ into your computer, all is automatic and will reinstall MJ in about 2 minutes and all is fixed. I do agree that their customer CHAT support sux big time, all they do is use a bunch of pre programmed Macros to answer your questions and the answers don't match your questions, so, if you know what you are doing, then enjoy MJ, it does work perfectly 98% of the time. I haven't had experience with the M.J. yet...

It's new for me. But as for Customer Service! Well that is a poor choice of terms for that department. I too got cut off.

I got questions & answers that were unrelated to my problem. But I was lucky enough to have gotten cut off & resolved my problem myself. I will be careful enough to use a prepaid Credit Card.

I try to dial a number and I get this computer voice telling me "If I want to make a conference call I should go to Magic Jack.com and but prepaid minutes." The call is local and I have called it many times and got through before even when I got magic Jack. I can not participate in any conference call suing Magic Jack now. I can not call outside US & Canada using a calling card. Simply put I can not enjoy what I paid for - phone to call any number of my desire in Us or Canada. You can not get to chat agents anymore. They change the rule of the game only to suit them at their convenience and time. What is that - Tricking buyers/consumers.

No call logs for International credit with MagicJack Plus

My international credit usage, which was purchased on 03/29/2013 looks suspicious with MagicJack Plus. I have contacted their customer support live chat. One of their associates gave me call details for 2 days (03/29 and 03/30) and closed the chat saying, I am not responding. I have reopened the chat and another associate said, they cannot give the details and closed the chat. And she intended to believe me that whatever they debited from my credit is correct and they do not provide any proof for that. Here is the snapshot of the chat. Heather: Unfortunately, we do not have any track on your call logs for the International calling, Rupesh. Rupesh: One of your associate gave me details for 2 days (03/29 and 03/30) few minutes before and chat got disconnected from your side Heather: http://www.magicjack.com/international/ Heather: However, you can click on the link above to check the calling rates when you place a call internationally. Rupesh: yes. Magicjack plus shipped defective products to me!

Magic Jack plus shipped me defective, bad product, I tried to register it and was not possible. "it says, insert magic jack to call" Went online to chat with them, spend over 40 hours on the online. Every operator was giving me their own opinion. They are confused, lack training, they are very rude. no good customer service, their customer service is very, very poor. When chanting with them, they would say, wait, need to transfer you to top 10% agent and will hang up. When you login again, the next person will start over again same question. No manager

Magic Jack start charging calls in US | Magicjack review from Dallas, Texas

ALL calls in USA and Canada were free. now they charge per minutes calls on line serviced by small telephone companies in the US. The chat lines is useless, don't get a real answer and then they hang up. Will cancel, when the year is up. Also, the forwarding features is not anymore in my magic jack when i log in. After complaining they gave me a link I have to use now. They promised they will correct this, but nothing happened. They only way to contact them is the chat line, very very slow and most of the time useless.

I have abMagic Jack ( paid up until 2015) I am using that number forvavnew venture. I wanted to remove their auto answer (advertisement for the) & forward my call to my I-Phone. I searched their FAQ's & downloaded a PDF file ith A Magic Jack heading telling me how to forward calls. They did not have he Call Forwarding Tab on my account page as indicated so I clicked on a Live Chat. Magda was nice but like Santa Clause ( slow as Christmas We never really ended chat she was off with who knows how many more chats?) & she finally asked if I ad ever had Forwarding before (why should that matter if all can get it) then he said by werevworking on that featurevforboetime after!!! I do suggest you shop for anything else paying mrebis cheaper if they have few features Try Ring Centrlal or look at tucows.com for cheap stuff!!

I can agree on so many levels! Why is Majic Jack allowed to keep doing this to people??

Why not take all the complaints here and post them where everyone can see them!!!

Start placing the complaints and the results on your public pages like FB, Google, and MySpace...who new crowd who will tell all their friends! Just think one tells their story and then five to ten people know and discuss the story, and they tell others and before you know it Magic Jack will be in the red because no one will want their defictive peices of ***, and *** service!

I'm very mad with Magic Jack. If they just deactivate CF to charge for it, they will soon start charging for VoiceMail, ID and what else?And the worst is their behavior, they don't care about people using it and just unplug the option.

The call forwarding feature has been under the "updating" process for three weeks. Customer service offers no information on when it will be functional again.

I use MJ for my business and now when I leave the office, I cannot forward calls to my cell phone. This is hurting my business bad. I informed them that if they were unable to provide the services that were promised, I wanted a refund as I am paid through 2015.

They sent me along legal form stating that I would not receive a refund and all risk/liability was my burden. Garbage system!!

I had standard majicjack since 2009 and purchased a majicjack plus Dec. 2011. They decided to shut down the standard majicjack 2 days ago and locked my account. It took me two day of live tech chat and today finally phone contact to find out what the problem is. Today I was told I violated the "Terms Of Service". When I asked what they are accusing me of doing; they responded high call volume. I was told they would contact me in an e-mail, and not to contact them any longer. I did keep calling to try to find out why I was not getting any service prior to be told not to. I renewed every June and also renewed June 2012, and added another year in Sept, 19 2012 because I got a registration screen and couldn't get out without renewing. They just dropped the remaining 9 mos. I had and restarted my service until Sept 19, 2013. The next morning I got another registration screen. I was given numerous silly excuses, and when I asked them to clarify they couldn't. So now I have paid for 21 mos of service with magicjack that I will not receive. They say "We do not advertise unlimited minutes. We advertise free minutes".
