I liked my Magic Jack for 4 months. Then it died. I had to spend 3 hours on live chat before I could get them to agree that the fault was with their device, not my computer or router. Magic Jack has FREE one year service but guess what? Your FREE replacement Magic Jack costs you $15. What a bunch of baloney! The $15 is not as bad as the 4 days of live chat. That device must cost them less than $2. Why would they pay their Live Chat people to spend 3 hours with me to determine that I need a replacement. And, by the time I get my replacement, I will have been without a phone for 10 days. Magic Jack needs a new business manager.

Worst Company Ever | Magicjack review from North Richland Hills, Texas

Today Magic Jack called my number trying to sell me on this Magic Jack ***. I am on both the National and Texas Do Not Call Lists. Several calls to Magic Jack to have my number removed (10+ times) only resulted in several excuses and no resolve of the issue. 1. We do not have any supervisors that work at this company. 2. They hang up. 3.The company that called was not from Magic Jack but from some other company trying to make sales for Magic Jack. 4. The only way to have a complaint addressed is to email upper management because there is not any corporate office at misrepresentation@magicjack.com. Obviously Magic Jack does not care about people or breaking laws. They are apparently liars and crooks and more importantly COWARDS. I have filed the complaint at the above address so they can get in touch with me at anytime plus Olivia has my information but they won't because they have a CROOK mentality. I am going to post this everywhere I can. If this is how they treat non-customers any new customers are going to get screwed. If you find a good review it will be from someone at the company trying to raise their feedback rating.

I can't even get the *** thing activated! I've been on customer support (chat-- don't know what they're doing; disconnected me) for about 8 hrs.

and have got nowhere. Will have to send this device back.

had trouble with the phone called them they told me i had a virus in my computer sent me over to Ambeience tecnology which is their company scared the wits out of me I am an older senoir citizen told me my bank account was going to be hacked well 149.00 dollars later they told me they fixed it that was a bald faced lied they told me no such viris but they will not give me a refund now i called to renew my service and was told only for 5 years then 3 years got them down to one year they want 159.00 their web site says 59.00 for a year they tell me thats with tec service which i already paid 159.00 for complete rip off am going to complain to the fcc they are ripping people off and they are a foreign company how are they allow to do this?

I was already unhappy that I would have to pay $20 to keep my home number, but was even more upset to learn that they were holding my phone number hostage for $30.00. This is after they told my new provider several times that they could not help them even after they had the needed account number and passcode. I had to call magic jack, like 10 times in 3 days. The ninth time I got someone on the phone, I asked the lady where did I agree to the fee. She told me to review the agreement , then hung up in my face.

Can't talk to support on the phone and its a phone company | Magicjack review from La Vernia, Texas

I recently tried to renew my two magic jack devices for five years. One device renewed fine but the other one would not work. When I spoke with tech support on their "live chat" feature, It was apparent that the support person was getting confused about my problem. When I asked to speak to someone on the phone (after all it is a phone company) I was told I could not speak that support was only available via the live chat feature. When I could not get my problem resolved (simply reactivating my two magic jack units) I got blamed for the problem. Every time I asked to speak to a live person I got the old "support is only provided via live chat" answer. when I asked to speak to a manager, I was told she was the manager and there was no one higher I could address. I was also told later that I could submit a suggestion to "upper management" about the service support issue. I told her "so you do have someone higher to answer to. I thought there was no one higher than you". It was a complete exercise in futility. I will find someone else to handle my services now. It is a shame, the company use to be very good at the start.
