I purchased 2. One in store and one online when I got home for my daughter. The one from the store was horrible and the one online that I had 100 invested it never came. They swore I'd used the one that came in the mail. I swore I didn't. This went on for months. They refused a refund for months. I believe it was delivered to the wrong house and the neighbor girl got it and was using it. When she told me she had one and it was free, I told her no and I'd paid 100 for one that never came. Her boyfriend then smashed hers. I believe because he knew she had mine. I think she must have called about a replacement because I called them back and they immediately gave me a refund without the months of harassment and ugliness I'd experienced. Virtually impossible to talk to someone and wasted hours and hours of my life in this experience. The talk quality was horrible and they kept wanting me to open my computer up so it was left vulnerable.

Magicjack - Magic Jack Reliabilty

For the second time in less than 4 months, a thunder storm with moderate amount of lightening has ended the life of the MJ equipment. During both thunder storms, power service not interrupted even momentarily. There equipment is not very reliable(a surge protect is on the circuit but this did not prevent the damage). Since they do not provide service after 6pmEST on Sunday. The "chat call" will have to be made tomorrow and some lame questions will be asked because the tech rep has little knowledge of the equipment if it is not a simple install situation. Once they take an hour of your time you are lucky to get a replacement the same week!

Hi there are two problem that I do not like magic jack eventhough I have been with it for three years. Firstly I could not make a phone call to a call centre unless I buy credit.

secondly it shut off buy itself if internet is unstable. So i just used MJ as a spared number.

Magicjack in Richardson, Texas - Failed power supply (well I think)

To be fair, I have three MJ accounts. Recently I started to have troubles with one of them. I did some trouble shooting and fond out that the power supply for the MJ Plus was failing. Knowing I was going to *** away an hour or more of my time, I contacted them through the 'chat system'. I went through their troubling shooting process after I told them what the problem was, and sure enough them came to the same conclusion; it was the power supply. I expected Mae to say, "a new one is on its way" but no. What I got was, "send us the old one and when we test it and find it is bad, we will send you another one".. I ask her what I was supposed to do with my phone being non functional during that time and she said I could go buy a USB power supply anywhere. So my phone number won't work because my MJP isn't connected because the power supply that powers it is broken and a replacement isn't coming. What a business to be in. Hook um, get them to spend money, then don't fix it when it breaks. Now why didn't I think of a business like that!

Buy a Belkin heavy duty three prong USB wall adaptor and you won't have a problem. Those cheap MJ and other two prong adaptors just get so hot and burn up.

I am on my second Magic Jack Plus which failed today, I believe because it runs hot to the touch they burn out after some time. I had to pay $14.00???

or so for my second one when the first one stopped working and I know they will charge me again because his one has failed as well. I dread having to call customer service. Overall I like this setup & price and I believe this company could be very successful if they ran it properly because the concept is great. What a shame their heads are in the sand!

Hopefully by the time my term is over, someone will start up a similar company with a product that lasts and a better customer service.

Magicjack - Majicjack account under review right after a 5-year contract renewal

Right after renewing the service for 5-year , my MJ device stopped working. I chatted with a MJ agent, got some useless instructions (check the blue light, remove device and replace it again, etc), got transferred to one of the top 10% agents, found out that my account is under review and that I cannot get a replacement device until the review process is over. I asked the agent about who performs this review and why. She said that the account is being reviewed by the 'right department' and that she doesn't know why or even what a 'review process' is. I have been having this problem for almost two months now.

Magicjack in Brownsville, Florida - Account under review

I renewed my account for the 5 years paid $118.26 back in March. A week later, I notice my phone was not working, I assumed they must not have activated my account let me contact them. Find out you have to chat with them online to file a claim, no phone number to contact. Ok, they ask me a series of questions, is the blue light on the device, yes, where is it pulled into, the phone. Please remove and pull into your computer. Ok, click on this link, to verify that it is updated, done. Let me transfer you to one of our top 10% best agents to further assist you. Ok, we will send you out a replacement device, oh, wait, your account is under review. After several conversations later I told them this. As consumers we have the right to take our business else where when the service does not meet our expectations. I have been dealing with this problem for over almost 4 months. Different people have run different diagnostic checks, downloaded different things, gave them my device number, etc. They says okay we will send you a new device. Oh, what is this, your account is under review, so we can not do anything because we must wait for this to be cleared. Oh, how long will this take, no one knows for certain how long it takes they will contact you by email. What is your email, blah, blah, ok, I will personally look into this for you. Hold on while I transfer you to one of our top agents to further assist you. But what NOTHING HAPPENS. If you have access to see how may times I have contact you all about this problem, it's more than a dozen. I have call the billing department, they say nothing is wrong with your account, but when I ask an agent, oh, this is under review.Then nothing happens.

Same runaround. Paid my renewal & upgrade. Got charged for two phones for a full year when I only had one. NO NO NO REFUNDS!

Upgraded from MJ reg. to MJ Plus...that never worked well. Renewed

after another year...Paid, worked for about 1 week...then zip. zip.

Lots of time in next 4 days...spent 10 hours on phone with many tech, referred refferrred reffered. out of time.

The only way to get your money back on non working stuff...is thru your Credit Card company & bank............

I have the exact same problem for 6 months... All lies.

I have initiated a class action lawsuit against MagicJack already.

My lawyers are more than willing to take this case as they are seeing a very good potential for success in this case.

I'll be opening up a website forums called www.fuckmagicjack.com for the angry customers who are getting screwed by them.

Lost my Power Adapter to MJ Plus. I have chatted on line but without satisfactory results. I would like to purchase a new power adapter. Will you supply one? I have 3 MJ+ units and around 1 year all three power adapters have failed. The first one they immediately gave me a link to a shopping cart for a free replacement.

It arrived in days. The 2nd they no longer offered the link and I had to mail it in -- that took weeks (losing service during that time, unless I plugged directly into my computer).

My third one, they offered to replace via email, but I am losing patience and may just buy another brand adapter. They really need to get their act together on their defective products.

DO NOT BUY A FIVE YEAR SUBSCRIPTION, YOU CANNOT TRANSFER THE SUBSCRIPTION TO ANOTHER DEVICE. MAGIC JACK PLUS DEVICE IS A LEMON, IT OVERHEATS AND DIES IN LESS THAN A YEAR! MagicJack: MagicJack Plus device is a lemon, it overheats and you cannot transfer your five-year subscription to another MagicJack Plus device. You have to buy a replacement so you cannot lose the five year subscription. Of course you do not have an alternative but to buy a replacement device which cost $10.99 for shipping and handling if your subscription is current and under warranty or you lose your five year subscription. You cannot transfer your five year subscription to another Magic Jack Plus DEVICE even if you have a Magic Plus device that you are not using.

Their record keeping! They had my broken magicjack listed on the account from a year ago and the new replacement magicjack. Both have same phone number. I renewed for the year and it was put on the broken magicjack. They wouldn't transfer the money to the good magicjack. Really? I'm 84 and have a lifeline and can't afford to pay for both the broken one and the replacement one. Now I have no lifeline, no phone, and no way for help. They say they are working on it. How many days? Can't talk to anyone by phone.

I have a terrible experience with the product and the service. I recieved an e-mail for an upgrad for a magicjack that doesn't need the computer. From that momento on (like six months ago) I lost my Magicjack number (all my friends and costumers have it) and I never recieved the upgrade.

I contact costumer service six times and the only answer I receive was that my case was in study and that they were giving priority. Never receive a feedback or any answer from them. The worst parta is that I was on my third of 5 years subscription. I lost my money for my remaining two years.

Finally lost my number, my money, my time. Don't buy this service.
