magicJack - Magic Jack-Class Action Lawsuit
Is there an attorney here that can advise us if there is a class action lawsuit here.
Does there need to be a dollar amount or a certain number of people wronged before a claim can be made.
They need to have live customer service responding to people and returning our money if were not satisfied.Instead they choose to hide on the internet and use unqualified operators that frustrate you, then pass you off to a supervisor who makes you start all over instead of reading the transcripts.Then you'll get disconnected and they doing this till you give up and they can keep your money.
He should redo that commercial with his daughters cute dogs and this time name them RIP and OFF.

I have 2 magicjack, 1 expire 2021 and the other expire 2022, one of them doesn't work anymore, so I called magicjack the rep told me the reasons its because the number has been expired, after a long argument nothing happened, the number is not an issued before because that was included in the subscription. So at end of the day "they want me to renew the number before I can use it again".

My wife got this for me in Jan..paid to keep our number..the service was terriable and she asked for the money back on the credit card..so far we had to get a new phone landline number and they are still holding our number hostage..meanwhile we keep getting the voice thing on our old number and I have missed a lot of important calls...
I have emailed them numerous times and the calls keep coming through.
I agree with all the complaints that have been posted. There customer service is nothing but a blackhole.
I had a 5 year plan on my original MJ device, due to terminate in October 2016, and they flagged my account about two ago in 2014 and cut off my service entirely.

I used magicjack for over two years and then purchased magicjack plus and ported my number over to plus. MagicJack automatically renewed the old magicjack even though I no longer used it and had moved the number over.
Customer service is appalling and they do not provide a method to save chat sessions so they can write anything they want and not deliver on their promises. It is impossible to talk to the proper department and try to resolve billing problems. I absolutely despise this company and fortunately there are alternatives that from my understanding provide proper customer service. This was a hard lesson for me and even though I am out a small amount of money it is the principle of the matter that counts.
Once these companies get your credit card number they put set up your account to renew automatically without your knowledge and when problems arise with your account they are not motivated to resolve them because they have your money. I am disputing the charge from my credit card company and if they don't help I'll cancel them too.

I just recently cancelled MJ. I had the service for about 2 years and it never worked correctly !!!!!
I was so furious with them. Each Chat session I had with them they asked me to just reboot my MJ device which never resolved my issue with the quality of calls, which were just horrible!!!! constantly dropping calls, the phone always beeped on the other end and the people one the other end of the phone couldn't even understand our conversations. I asked MJ for a refund but that just wasn't happening!!!!!!
I switched to Ooma which has been great really. I ported my number over from MJ and guess what..... MJ sends me an email saying how sorry they were to lose me just click here to un port your number, So I clicked and to my surprise!!!!! You can Pay us (MJ) $32.00 to un port your number!!!!!!
I can't Stand MJ and will discourage anyone from ever using this Cheating, Lying company!!!!!

After about a year of service MJ unexpectedly discontinued the call forwarding feature. I contacted them and was informed that they no longer offer that feature (our only reason for using their service).
They suggested that I use their free app on my iPhone. phone app works terrible - can't answer many calls while others cannot be understood. The Magic is gone. Bad service.
Bad app. If you are looking for good service and dependable communications MJ is not for you.
I ordered magic jack in may I received my magic jack and they charged my account. And 30days later they chared my account again.
I contacted magic jack and they denied the charge. So we have not been able to get our money back so I out 62.42.
I have contacted them many times and no result they have had my money sence April. Will never deal with magic jack and will not reccmond to any one.
same hting havppened to me..now I can't even use my phone.had to change back to Century Link.. I paid Magicjack for 5 yrs of service.
extra to keep my previous phone number.. and now.. you can't even get tot the mymagicjack.com website or any of their sites.. any with the same situation as of today..

We have been Magic Jack customers for over 4 years now, we started with the original Magic Jack, and now are using the Magic Jack Plus. We have had average to good results with the original, and very good results with the Plus.
Initially we had a bit of a problem with caller ID on our cordless phone, but that was due to the brand of phone we were using, and the wife complained about the voice quality, but that was usually due to something else running on the PC while she was using the phone (the MJ was on her PC and her PC isn't a very fast or "powerful" one, and it's rather old). Once we sorted out those issues, there were nary a problem after that, and I even was able to use it for faxing. Now that we have switched to the MJPlus, it's just about like having a regular house phone again, but without the phone bill. I've never had the need to contact their customer service, so I can't speak to that, but I've never had a problem with their hardware that has been insurmountable, or truly troubling.
We have used both the MJs for calling all across the country with no problems what-so-ever. Best of luck to those of you who are having the problems, I can imagine what you are going through, as I have dealt with customer service like that, just not with Magic Jack.
We started with MJ and dropped them. They lied to us for months as they delayed changing our phone number to Vonage.
We still have calls that they intercept because they did not purge our number. They refuse to speak to us. Yet our calls get diverted to a messaged from MJ encouraging people to sign up with them. We are also looking for a class action suit against this incredibly dishonest company.
They kept me online for 2 hours today with a canned "Well be right with you message" every 3 minutes. And then they cut it off.
We are a nonprofit charity and being hurt by this company. Can anyone help?
i bought it to gift other people. i was in violation for having other people use it when it was clear in the ad you can that's why i bought it.
excessive calls did not reflect article 6b. i pasted the terms and it didnt say you cant call till your heart desires. April said she can track your IP if others use it and not you.

MagicJack Plus failed in less than a day. Terrible customer service passed me from one agent to the next for hours and accomplished nothing.
I returned this piece of junk product; they wanted $10 shipping to send me another one! I abandoned my account with several years of service remaining because they are the worst company I've ever dealt with.
As a magic jack customer of 3 years I recently had my account "terminated" by THEM! The reason, I did not make a phone call for 60 DAYs!
I never made calls with the magic jack, they never worked right I just left it hooked up to get incoming calls, messages on occasion. My last incoming call was a mONTH ago!
they will not restore my number or give me a refund either! I don't make outgoing calls form my house phone either BUT I pay the bill so they leave it turned on!

I have had magic jack for years and have been calling into conference call for at least a year. Suddenly I can not call into my conference call.
No notice of a change nothing. These people are greedy.
It's time to drop them and get my money back. SPREAD THE WORD, DON'T BUY MAGIC JACK!
