Just put a $10 AirVoice SIM in your phone and use Hangouts Dialer for free when on Wi-Fi and be done with the hassle.

Magicjack is Scam The actual cost can run you $54.00 for unit +$20.00 to keep your phone number and $10.00 every year, $150.00 for security software say Magicjack will not work without it your total comes to $224.00 for 6 Month. I got angry and I return back to Radio Shack. In addition after refusing to buy $150.00 security Tech support mess up my desktop, and I had to do complete system recovery and I lost all software installed on my computer including MS-Office. What the heck are you talking about?????

Not necessary!! nor even exists (as far as I know.)

Not counting the so called security thing mentioned by this user, MJ is still the cheapest phone service in existence even with all the other options they offer.

The only complaint I have is to have to reboot my router now and then to reset the IP address. Otherwise it has saved us a ton of money!

I've had Magicjack for YEARS with NO problem and so have many of my friends. We've NEVER been told that we need to download security software for any amount of money in order for it work properly.

I don't believe for one second Magicjack required you to download any kind of software except their own for the Magicjack. If you were "required" to download a security software it most likely came from your own computer OR most likely a hacker wanting money since your computer was messed up.

It did take me a while to figure out how to get Magicjack to work with ATT U-Verse as I no longer had a direct modem connection where my Magicjack was. I was now wireless.

I did find out how to do it and it works fine!!

I do not believe you have a case against this company.

I've not seen anywhere on their website where they require you to download security software. As I've said I've never been required or asked to do so and neither have any of my friends who use it.

I got a hold of magic jack and they said they took it off,but i,m still getting emails from them stating i have voice mails from them,i,ll find out in june if they try to take money out of my account.

couldn't hear people on other end,cancelled it 2 weeks after i bought it at radio shack and they still charged me online for it,i got my money back from radio shack but not from magic jack and now i,m worried that there going to take a payment out of my checking account for something i no longer have i want them to cancel it i go in there website theres nothing in there that says cancel theres no phone number to cancel it so how do i get rid of it once and for all,i had to change my phone number because of them and my girl friend calls me and it says magic jack i didn't have this phone number when i got magic jack.

They told me they would run a $1.00 on my cc and then send me out the MJ+. If on the 31st day if i did not return it I would then be charged. Guess what. I woke up on Tues and they charged me $81.65. I called my bank right away and the bank rep was kind enough to call MJ #. She was told by Melody that it was an error and would fall off my acct any day. Yesterday they actually charged me! My bank now says I need to fill out an affidavit and they can not guarantee if my rent ck comes in that it will be paid! MJ lied to my bank. I get all the same BS chats and then they say "we have not heard from yuo so are closing the chat". ALL BS. I can not get them to call me back. I can not get through on their 561-594-2140 #. I have emailed the owner Dan. I live penny to penny and can not afford to wait for the BBB and State Atty's office to sort this out and get my $ back.I also need to cancel my card as I do not trust them one bit. I am about to have a heart attack over this. They are worse than Comcast, Sprint, AND AT&T all together! I love the comment about naming their dogs RIP and OFF as that is what they are. They need to be shut down immediately and i want to be the first in line when the class action against them comes to light!

one of your customer phone number 512-800-8779 calling from india and speaking in hindi and different peoples calls from this number and is threatening also used the filth languange. i want to stop and issue them warning. they are caling at my home phone number 7735099103. the company name they said is medical services. they call too many times and looking for one person i told them no bady live by the name they stated. but yelling on me. i tried to stop them they not stop and calling more then 10 times calling calling i not pick.

MagicJack Plus ripoff

Early adopters of the MagicJack Plus were told they could not transfer their remaining original MagicJack time to their Plus accounts. Today, June 1. 2012, people that I actually talked into getting the original MagicJack a year ago (but they didn't upgrade to Plus yet) are getting emails telling them that if they upgrade to Plus in the next 48 hours, they WILL be able to transfer their original MagicJack time to their new MagicJack Plus accounts. Why would a company intentionally screw their early adopters in such a fashion? I'm getting ripped off of at least two years. What is wrong with that company??

BEWARE, CAN'T GET TIME YOU PAID FOR USING MAGIC JACK WITH NEW MAGIC JACK PLUS UNLESS YOU DO IT WHILE REGISTERING THE NEW UNIT. IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND IT WHILE REGISTERING, STOP AND CONTACT THEM AND GET EXPLICIT INSTRUCTIONS. magic jack worked fair for a month, then you couldn"t hear on it. it"s a rip off. didn"t want 5 yrs. service , but they charged me. i will talk to better business bureau. if it"s too good to be true , it is. bought m. j. in nov. 2011, calls started falling in dec.,2011. couldn"t contact anyone.magic jack will not give a refund if your magic jack fails. magic jack gave me a run around. i sent e mails to cancel my 5 yrs service that i didn"t order. buyer beware, rip off.

I PURCHASED A MAGICJACK IN AUG OF 2011. YESTERDAY 2/8/12 I NEEDED TO CHANGE MY NUMBER, A $10.00 CHG. I ATTEMPTED TO PURCHASE THE NUMBER, HOWEVER, THE NAME ON MY CREDIT CARD HAS MY MARRIED NAME AND THE ACCT HAS MY MAIDEN NAME. I SPOKE WITH A REP ONLINE, THEY TOLD ME HOW TO UPDATE MY INFO, SO I CAN USE MY CARD. I THEN ATTEMPTED TWO MORE TIMES TO NO AVAIL, NOW SOMEONE ELSE HAS MY OLD PHONE NUMBER. THEY CONSTANLY KEEP TELLING ME, MY ACCT IS UNDER REVIEW. Sorry, but you are totally out-of-luck with this fast-millions fly-by-night excuse for a business.

DON'T KEEP WAITING, nothing is being done, and nothing will ever happen!

Notice the message "....any answers you can get...(from a chat....) are here in the FAQ's" This is THE ONLY truth I have gotten from these incompetent fraudsters. The reps you TRY to discuss problems with only sit there in front of their monitor and read FAQ responses, over and over like a PARROT! You can Google this disaster company and dig-out phone numbers, web-site addresses, even corporate information, to pursue your claim. Try to hook-up with a class-action lawsuit, or if all else fails, talk to your attorney.

THey DO NOT CARE about complaints to the FCC, BBB's, Secretaries-of-State, or anyone else....there are THOUSANDS already filed.

If you can catch it in time, stop payment on your credit card....that's what I'm doing RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!! Best of Luck
