Magicjack in Houston, Texas - Ripp off

1.0) I had to change my phone no. immediately after buying the hardware & signing up. I have to pay $30 for that. 2.0) I had been getting emails from them to signup for premoimum membership which will extend my membership for next 5 years. I did & was charged $73+. I did not get any confirmation of my extended subscription. Later I had a chat (copy of the Chat available). The chat agent checked & told my subscription valid till year 2017. 3.0) About one week back I started getting message that my subscription is shortly expiring & for continued service must renew my subscription in order to continue service. 4.0) I had a chat with amgicjack agent yesterday (8/13/2012) & told about my subscription's valadity. She said okay & asked me to go to website & click on phone no. It didnot do any thing. I asked her to fix the problem. Her reply was "because of security reasons" she cannot do that & asked me to try again. This time it changed the validity of "Equipment" by 5 years, but accordingly to thr agent I will have to extend the validity of "Phone number" also by paying more money, Remember that the "Phone no. subscription was validated by an agent in earlier chat. 5.0) I REQUEST SOMEBODY IN THE AFFECTED PEOPLE PUBLISH ON THIS & OTHER RELAVENT SITE PHONE NOS. OF a. FCC b. Better Business Bureau of relevant state. and any other agency. Also some guidance as to how file a complaint.

Magicjack in Littleton, Colorado - Majic Jack is a fraud

In August of 2011, I paid $40 for the hardware and for 5 years of service in advance, plus a custom number. I have been unable to use the service at all and cannot get any assistance from MagicJack. The only way I have been able to contact them is through their "Live Chat" but they just tell me that my account is "under review" and that I must keep waiting for someone in their review department to contact me...I've already been waiting for an entire year. On my most recent "Live Chat" I was told to just use a different phone. The thing is, I paid for service with MajicJack and have not, as yet, been able to use it for an entire year. They claim over 8 million MagicJacks sold, and if even 1/4 of those customers are experiencing what I am, that's 2 million dissatisfied customers who cannot use their service, and MagicJack refuses to give a refund, or to fix the problem...but they WILL TAKE YOUR MONEY! I'm fed up with them, and completely out of patience, so this morning I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. It seems they have already had hundreds of complaints, and I encourage everyone who has an unresolved issue with MagicJack to PLEASE CONTACT THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION AND FILE A FORMAL COMPLAINT. Maybe if they get hit with a $200 million dollar class action suit they will get their act together. I might not get a dime of that, but it would certainly be satisfying to know that they lost a whole lot of money for stealing my money and treating me the way they have.

Magicjack charged me twice 4 renewing my act.

magicjack charged my bank act. twice for renewing my act with them $31.39 to times on same day for a 1 year renewel i tryed calling there billing # 516-594-9925 serverl times they cept asking for my magicjack # and then disconected me. when i went online for help they wanted to bill me for getting the anser to how to fix the problem. this is compleatly unfair them wanting to charge me to fix there mistake and i bleive there telephone # 516-594-9925 for billing questions is just anouther way to get you to go online to get help so that they can charge you again. i called it like 16 times and it was the same thing every time some 1 would come on say there name ask you for your number serverl times then they would say they did not get a responce and end the call. well gess what my next call is to the better bussiness bureau!

Magicjack in Jefferson City, Missouri - Ordering my 4th Magic Jack today.

Sorry you people are dis-satisfied. My Magic Jack is not perfect, but I'm well pleased. How about your computer, your phone, your electricity? Is it all absolutely perfect? As for me, I have to re-boot, etc, my computer more often than I would like, but I'm not throwing it out, nor am I bad-mouthing it. GOOD LUCK finding the perfect product! I find the Magic Jack Plus far better than the original, so maybe try again. You're right, they seem to not have any personal service number you can call. You just "chat" with them.

Magicjack in Evansville, Indiana - Not as advertised

We purchased Magic Jack & installed it. But I have three major complaints. First of all, I have to dial 1+the area code for ALL calls, not just long distance. Second, the company states that you will have caller ID but all we get is a phone number, no name. This, to me, is not caller ID because I don't know all of my friends and acquaintances numbers by heart. Third, the reception is spotty. I have three people in the first week of using Magic Jack that have told me that I am breaking up. Needless to say, I would not recommend this product!! A very dissatisfied customer

Magicjack in Bangor, Maine - Big Rip Off!

Biggest rip off since the '59 Ford Edsel. They charged me $20.00 Dollars so I could keep my "same" phone number. When I got tired of their crummy, or no service, they charged me $31.44 to transfer my phone number back to my former phone company. Majic Jack is a POS, people. Could not receive faxes while with majic jack. Nothing but frustration while trying to carry on a conversation. Frustration while trying to make a call! Frustration, frustration,frustration,frustration,frustration,frustration,frustration,frustration, frustration to the Max. I would not recommend Majic Jack service to anyone.

Magicjack

i am completely frustrated with magicjack. People call but they cannot hear me. I have to check caller id and call them on my cell. Magicjack gives me no satisaction. They want me to talk to high-tech person then they leave me. They suggested up-grades, but nothing happened when I clicked on it. I have had mj for two months, and it worked for 2 days. I hope to get my old number back with regular land service. Also, I cannot call from my cell phone, error 321 whatever that is. so I have to use another cell phone to call home. At radio shack they blame my phone, so I got a new one, and nothing has changed. I have spent so much time and effort, I feel really cheated. I cannot get an 800 number, but then again it would be useless.

I have had service from Magic Jack for about maybe going on 2 yrs now, sure if your internet is screwing up you have problems, but I can't and won't complain, where can you go and pay less than 20 dollars a year and receive phone service, really people, stuff always happens!!! The only thing I don't care for is that I have to have my cp on all the time, but they have one now you don't need to plug into the cp, thought about trying it but decided to stick with this, have 4 cats and wish they had made it zap them when they get near it cause they like chewing on cords, lol but other than that I have no complaints!!!

I have had a Magicjack plus since November 2011. It has worked perfect for me.

If you have *** internet service, that is why MJ is not working well for you. *** internet or slow internet = poor service no matter what voip phone service you use.

I HAVE ONLY HAD THIS SERVICE 2 MONTHS AND I DON'T LIKE IT! KINDA PRICEY FOR WHAT YOU DONT GET! *** CUSTOMER SERVICE ! TRIAL PEROD ISNT LONG ENOUGH ! THIS IS A JOKE! CAN'T EVEN GET BACK MY NUMBER WITHOUT A LOT OF B*** *** ! I AM SWITCHING BACK TO MY OLD SERVICE! I HAVE THE OLD ONE AND THE NEW ONE WICH SAY'S IT IS IMPROVED! I have to pay 29.99 plus 10.00 for a canadian number + taxes. the *** with them.

I can use a 10 10 #'s or calling cards and get 5 cents a minute or less and that is over 14 hrs of long distance calls. Never use that much in a year.

EVEN AT 29.95 FOR THE YEAR, IT IS CHEAPER THAN WHAT YOU WERE PAYING WITH YUR REGULAR PHONE COMPANY...DON'T BE CHEAP AND PAY $30.00 FOR THE YEAR..

I had the same problem as Harvey - Magic Jack did my renewal at $29.95 I did the customer service avenue. I basically said the same thing regarding the fee was $19.95 I got the same response as to it increased January, 2012.

I asked as to why I was NOT notified before taking the funds from my bank account. She said I had automatic renewal which I did NOT when I went to my account. She says oh that shouldn't have happened. Then she says we sent you an email, I went to my email account I told her that I did NOT receive an email and I should be reimbursed for at least $10.00.

She says no problem I will notify the proper department and your bank account will be refunded. WELL IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS and still NO REFUND!!!

Magicjack in Miami, Florida - Magic Jack plus

Dont even try to hook up a magicjack to a phone that is tied in to a dsl line. If you don't have a stand alone bill without dsl service magicjack will not work. I spent over 4 hrs with att and magic jack and finally am sending it back. In order to send it back my credit card company had to look up the order number and get a return code, I could not do it on my own, another 2 hrs on the phone, this whole thing is a miserable experience. What I did find out is that my old magicjack that I used with my computer works great without a phone, just plugging it into my laptop I can send and recieve calls.

Thank you, lucky for me I call ATT first andt they told me I have to change my phone service to a stand alone line for Majic Jack. I am still not sure if I want to try it.

I do not use my phone much, 1 to 3 calls a month. This is why I wanted to cancel ATT and save money, but I don't want a headache or nightmare.
