I was already unhappy that I would have to pay $20 to keep my home number, but was even more upset to learn that they were holding my phone number hostage for $30.00. This is after they told my new provider several times that they could not help them even after they had the needed account number and passcode. I had to call magic jack, like 10 times in 3 days. The ninth time I got someone on the phone, I asked the lady where did I agree to the fee. She told me to review the agreement , then hung up in my face.

Unable to renew contract. Chatted with customer service representative He was so rude. I'm still waiting the promised contact and that was 2 years ago. Now l purchased a 5 year machine and can't get the flipping thing to work. Although it was registered it keeps telling me to register the device and taking me back to the same spot. did you renew the telephone number also? This was an issue I had and didn't realize you have to renew the number in addition to the contract.

I kept getting the recorded message. try renewing that and see what happens it worked for me.

why do I have to have at least 50 words???

Ripoff | Magicjack review from Rochester, New York

Magic Jack advertises "Unlimited" calls in the US and Canada. I took out a 5 year subscription. After 1 year the account was cancelled because I violated the user terms and agreement by making too many calls. I was making about 10 per day on average. Customer service told me that their computer determines when the terms have been violated based on the number of calls made and there is nothing than can be done and no one I can talk to. I lost 4 years of service and they refused to refund the unused portion of the contract.......approximately $80. However if I paid AGAIN to signed up AGAIN, everything would go back to normal.

What a bunch of **** | Magicjack review from Fort Pierce, Florida

Tried to set up MagicJack Go, but was not compatible with my office setup. Cords would not work. They told me I had to use my computer and not my modem. Unacceptable. I told them to CANCEL the port request and that I was returning the equipment. Not only did they not cancel the porting, but they took my money and now I have no phone at all! They went ahead and ported the number!!!!! Customer Service is a bunch of *** and idiots. MagicJack has charged me for a porting fee I cancelled and for 911 services I don't have. They won't refund the money they took. They won't cancel the porting. I have to contact my original carrier and get everything re-set back up. This is costing me time and money....all for trying to use a service to save some money. Now I am getting emails telling me I have MagicJack voicemail....but I have no way to access the messages.... RUN!!!!! DO NOTUSE MAGICJACK

I have had my Magic jack almost as long as they have been advertising it. I got it when I opened my daycare in 2000 and I have had no problems with even after I moved to a area where there was no lines for my cell it continues to work. Now I have the Plus, can't complain.

Called Magic Jack custermer support wasn't able to fix problem was told it was tech problem and would transfer to that department. Tech named Ivan came on and wanted to get into my computer to fix problem. Ivan moved mouse around for over 12 hours until I shut off computer as I felt that Ivan was a joke and I was being stroked around. I have tried numerous times to contact either teach or service dept with no luck. I,m totally disgusted with Magic jack. The problem doesn't seem to be with the Magic jack it's with the company and the way they don't care about there customers. I have had this device for over 4 years and this is the first time that I have had a problem but this problem is a major pain and I want to either get it resolved or I want my money back

there are too many people claim to be working for magic jack but they are there trying to rip you off. they said they want to log in your system to check it out and then later tell you that your computer have some issue and ask you to pay a few hundred dollars for them to fix it.

Beware, these guy have indian accent and they must have come from there, they are not working for magic jack, we need to report this to the FBI internet fraud and have them prosecuted.

I will admit that when you have the device connected directly to your computer,you have added a few items into the mix that can have some potential issues. My setup is configured to where the it is plugged into a power strip for power and then connected to my router with a Cat5 cable. I have been using this unit and configuration for over a year now with no issues at all. I do have a Uniden phone with answering feature on it. But as I stated not a single issue for over a year. When trying to find a problem always take it down to barebones config. Then if it works there, start building on that until you find the issue.
