MagicJack steals your money

After having a MagicJack for a year, they turned off my service because of heavy use on one day during a family emergency. They will not refund your money and then take back your phone number so they can resell it. This may be an American company but they operate like communists. BEWARE! Don't waste your money on this device. Although it worked very well at first, the company will *** in a heart beat just to re=sell the number. Don't get caught in their trap of inadequate service and tricks just to get your money.

They advertised 39.95 plus 6.95 for a free trial, then as i had only loaded enough on card for that they also took a additional 5 dollar hold charge, and when speaking with a rep said to message them back which I could not do as they also charged a fee of $1.50 to use my card.KNOWING I would not be able to contact them.........till now

They are a scam, ever wonder why there is no 800 number to contact them listed any where on the website, and if you ever had a live chat with the uneducated idiots who are all supervisors by the way, your blood pressure will need to be check after the chat. INSANITY, another greedy american scam.

If you had it a year and didn't renew your subscription, of course it will be cut off. The service is only good for one year unless you buy more years.

Another option you can do is buy a new MJ and return your old one in the package and get a refund (buy it at Radio Shack or WalMart), therefore gaining another year.

You'll lose your phone number, of course, but you are losing it anyway. If they ripped you off by cutting you off for no reason, this is the best way to get even.

Don't buy one...they are a piece of ***! It's never worked right and you can very rarely ever get in touch with customer service. you just keep getting sent back to the same old page. and it solves nothing! The 911 feature does not work. your ringer wont work. you wont have a dial tone most of the time. when you do have a dial tone and place a call, the person on the other end cant hear you and you cant hear them either. i think it was a little better in the beginning. now they've made changes and its caused loss of call listings. It just sux and thats putting it mildly, especially when you depend on your phone cause your disabled.

MagicJack is a RIPOFF!

I've used Magic Jack for a year and I have had nothing but problems with it. When it works, it's great, but I have continual problems with starting it and keeping it running. Now they have made it even harder to start by sticking an ad in for MagicTalk (Whatever the *** that is) that prevents the device from even starting. As for their website, it's pretty much useless unless you want them to tell you what a great product they have. They don't even supply a contact site. Probably because they don't want to hear all these complaints you find on this site. The only people I would recommend MagicJack to would be my worst enemies.

I bought it just over a month ago and now it stops working ! the "chat window " is a joke ! Know one knows how to fix anything they keep passing the buk to another operator .then finally you reach the to 10% service person lmao which don't exist cause he can't fix it .Then if your god or lucky enough you get LivE Look which is suppose to fix it for you! not!!! Then you go around in circles.If you have the patience you'll call back and give them the chat # which is not helpfull cause you won't go anywhere!!! I did 6 hrs yesterday and 2 today .I'm the fool! $$$ in the garbage! hope this helps someone not buy there ***.

i cant access my majic jack it asks for my email and password which i did not do from the last calls i made and from the past years of using this..please email me how drew_andrei2000@***.com.!i don't know how to where to secure the email because when i installed this i never made any registrations.my mother sent this to us and were able to use it without problems until now i hope you could help me with this because we really need the services as our way of communication with my mom and us.pls attend to this its very important..thank you

Devices simply do not have quality

MJ owver for 2 years have owned one, had a replacement..worked for 6 months then didn;t work, new replacement does not work either. Quality of device simply is not there. MJ CS chat lines for not follow specific solutions for you particular problem, they provide only generic rituals that aren't part of the problem. There are no real Computer engineers that can help you. Have been tryng on/off for a month to find a solution to current problem with no luck. Need professional help to fix problem. Current failure rate of this device is 60%. I need a jack that has passed QC that will do the job.

They can not provide the service promised, Magic Jack has very poor communications

I have spent 6 hours attempting to get my system to work . It worked well for 6 months. I have paid for 5 years of service. now you can not provide it. I need at least 4 years refunded.. Magic Jack..I understand how frustrating this issue has become. Let me find out what happened and I will check all available resources I have so we can straighten this out. Magic Jack...Please allow me to inform you that it is not possible for the plan to be refunded. I have reviewed the procedures you have undergone with other agent about not being able to make call. Was not surprised to read this. I ordered it when it first came out and could not get it to work.

Sent it back. Took a bunch of certified letters to every MJ entity as well as a letter to the Florida Atty General to get a credit back on my card.

Which, by the way, investigated them and sent me a form to fill out. I still have all of the paperwork.

Magic Jack has lost its magic

Have use Magic Jack successfully for about 2 years. The recent "upgrade" should be called a "downgrade". Magic Fix was a great utility program that performed tests and made minor adjustments and usually self corrected any problems. Magic Jack Directory Wiped because of upgrade

Magicjack just provided an upgrade to their system that has wiped off many customers directory of numbers. All they are offering is just an apology when I have built up my directory of business contacts over 3 years that is irreplaceable, Shame on Magicjack. Attempts to discuss with Magicjack have been futile. I strongly feel that this is a problem created by Maicjack and as such they should be compensating their customers for teh inconvenience suffered. I just do not think that an apology is sufficient. If this is the way that the company is going to behave this will have some impact on our I support recommending this device to my friends and family.

I too have gone through what you went through with them wiping out a continued contact list and call records of doctors, schools and other personal information with no feeling of customer service, satisfaction or need to appease me since it is they who did this.

Magic Jack does not honor or service non working jacks

I have used Magic Jack for over a year. A few weeks ago MJ started to have problems. I called MJ service and after many hours the problem was "resolved." The next day the problems got worse. I tried to keep mj working and finally called mj again for service. After numerous hours I was transferred to a tech who would browse my machine and see if the problem could be fixed. She browsed my machine saw the dial pad and said it was working even though i know longer had dial tone. I told her it was not working and she wiped out the chat session and disconnected the browsing session.

Magic Junk or Magic Joke whatever. Don't waste your money with this thing.I believe they purposely use the internet chat and hire people that don't speak good english to frustrate you and wear you down.

It's all part of there methodology.Then when that person exhausts you they switch you to a supervisor that is no more capable and they ask you to start from the begining.

I am here to give up all the collected information to anyone on here who wishes to bombard their offices with customer complaints I feel that maybe they will get it. OR NOT!!! Bait and Switch

When I first got Majic Jack, (MJ) i was shoved toward a list of numbers. MJ did not say they were out of my area or long distance for my neighbor to call me. When I contacted them today thier person was rude and would not help me. Only 'check back every month to see if they had a local number in my area'. This kind of service is irresponsible and rude. They should attend 'customer service school'. PS they want $10 to change my number. BAIT and SWITCH??? Some how MJ should stand up and be responsible for thier inadequet service.

Magic Jack Doesn't Work, Terrible Customer Service

I have numerous problems with this device. When I try to call my son's cell phone, I get several busy signal beeps, then it goes dead. This happens every time. I can immediately call him from cell phone with no problem. Also, he has no problem calling us. Several other numbers are just the opposite: they can't call us, but we can call them. When they try to call us we get we hear one ring that goes on forever, we get a msg on our phone that says "no data," and when we answer there is no connection. If we call the number right back, we connect to them with no problem. Whenever I have tried to address these issues thru customer no-service, it's always the same answer: "Here, run this upgrade." Which never solves the problem. Also, customer no-service is the worst I've ever experienced. First, it's on-line chat only; MJ doesn't have a phone number you can call to speak to a live human being. The agents are obviously in a foreign country. Sometimes the agent's syntax and grammar are so poor I can't even understand what they are trying to tell me. I have tried to endure because the price for this service is so cheap, but I've reached the end of my rope and I am dumping Magic Jack because it just isn't worth the hassle.

TERRIBLE. MJ customer NO-service is exactly what they are. After the first hour I literally put on a movie and started watching it, because they kept putting me through the same tired hoops. That's when their hang up started. They would "read the notes" then tell me to "install the upgrade", "format the MJ", and "verify that I can toggle the headset/telephone", but then, after that, they were "transferring you to one of the top 10% customer service representatives as rated by our customers...". But they didn't transfer, there was the wording near the bottom that said, "agent is typing...", but they weren't typing either. I tried to ask them what's going on after a few minutes of that screen being there, but they were gone and my message couldn't be sent.

Literally, I was getting live techs, and telling them the answers to their questions BEFORE they asked them: e.g. (login) and type, "YES, i'll wait while you read the notes...", then they would type, "one moment please while i read the notes...". And I would do that for each of the five first steps - 1. note reading 2. what's your number 3. exactly what is the problem 4. click the link and install the upgrade 5. toggle telephone/headset. Truth is I could have done it further with 7. restart MJ 8. sign out and in again 9. unplug wait for 15 seconds and plug in again 10.is the blue light flashing or steady ... blah blah blah.

And yes, many of the people I talked to had poor English. And No, there isn't a phone number to reach someone at. And no, you can't talk to a supervisor.

MJ should be taken off the market and thoroughly tested before they allow them to ever do business again.

I suggest to people all over the world please don`t buy magic jack other wise you will loose your money as i did. I've had MagicJack several years now and have probably saved over $1,000 on my phone bills. Seems it is your loss but don't complain about fraud because you made too many calls (the only way to have your service cancelled)and violated your TOS.

He is absolutely correct Magic Jack is a scam I ordered mine two weeks ago I was billed on my credit card for forty something dollars before the device was shipped...it states that you will receive a 30 day trial and if not satisfied return it and you will be refunded it DID NOT allow me to return the faulty device I will contact my credit card company to stop payment, since they will not give me the return info...PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY WE ARE ALL TRYING TO SAVE NOT GET RIPPED OFF.
