Magicjack - Did Not Work, Worst Ever Customer Experience, Won't Give Refunds

I was on Vonage and it worked well; I decided to switch to Magic Jack to save a few dollars. I signed up for the no-risk 30-day trial. Worst ever decision of my life. The porting process was a nightmare, took forever and had to be done manually because they insisted on using the suffix on my name and it did not match Vonage (without the painful suffix). Then, the technology does NOT work with my Home Wiring Systems (Remember Vonage and AT&T DSL VOIP worked fine), the phone would not ring. They told me my home wiring was incompatible and it would have to be rewired. Hours and hours on the phone with language-challenged Tech Support, told me i was wrong. I cancelled and they told me I would receive a full refund except for the Govt 911 fee). BTW, you have to return their equipment AT YOUR EXPENSE... Here it is a month later and they declined to refund the porting fee, which they told me they would refund in an earlier documented call. They told me, "Sorry, but your number was successfully ported over to Magic Jack, so no refund is possible." So they promise you one thing, then keep your money. Worst ever customer experience. PLEASE STAY AWAY FORM MAGIC JACK! BEWARE.

The money for 5 year plan paid and taken out of visa account and now they say they do not work with the company that took the money. they gave me an id number but now say that is not right. they are taking advantage of a senior lady and gave me an awful time.I am going to have my bank investigate this outright THEFT. When I called them I was put on hold for a long time and several times they hung up and I had to start over again. How can they still be in bussiness with so many complaints?

Magicjack - Wont replace defective product!!!

I bought two magic jack at Best Buy store. I activate one with no problem. I waited about two months to even open the box much less to activate the other one. After trying to activate it with two different computers (with different operating systems) I decided to contact customer service. Well there is no talking to no one, there is only a chat. So with the first chat, for about two hours we tried everything which I've already tried. I had to go to get my daughter from school so I left and the problem wasn't fix. Two days pass and I tried the chat again thinking the problem will get resolve... BOY OH BOY I WAS WRONG. She ask me to do everything that already did, and I was'nt in the mood to spend another two hours also since the beggining of the chat I told her that it was my second time about the same issue, same product. She asked me over and over again where did I bought the magic jack. I told her that I didn't want a refund but for them to exchange the product and she told me TWICE that she couldn't do that because the product was bought from another retailer and no from their web site!!! I COULD NOT BELIEVE IT. That is the most dumb thing that I ever heard. She told me that I could buy another magic jack for $25 Plus shipping and handlin. Why would I want to spend more money than what I already have? NEVER AGAIN. in my book that is called stealing!!!

Magicjack - Renewing Charged 3 times...

Tried to renew subscription, credit card declined 3 times. Checked online banking only to find 3 charges debited from my account for the yearly subscription rate $35 plus admin.fee $2.73 so $37.73 x3 plus $1.00 whatever fee. How can this be? The card was declined. Customer service Vel said it would be credited back witin 12 hours. I'm like where did it go? After 20 minutes it still does not make a bit of sense. I'm done with MJ been a loyal subscriber for over 7yrs. This happened last year or the year before.... The real kicker is I don't have extra money and these extra charges may overdraw my bank account

I had an old silver mj for 6 yrs and it worked fine even when moved to Win10 computer, After Win10 holiday upgrade it worked no more BUT when I hook it up with an old Vista it works fine. Got service refund but not int'l minutes or unit price.

Had purchased an Express hoping that would help. They just can't get it to work with Win10 on desktop.

I recommend you do not purchase MagicJack 5 year plan. They do not stand by their product, so when you have an issue with the device, they will not send you a new one without you paying additional money for it. So you are stuck with the balance of your 5 year plan...

The only problem I have experienced with MagicJack not functioning was when the power adapter malfunctions. They are easy to replace, as a temporary measure an Iphone power adapter can be used
